Choz Belen is an award-winning creative best known as the creator of the graphic novel trilogy, Mumu: Monsters of the Motherland, Mumu: Lost in Anito, and Mumu: Prisoners of Taotao.

Born and raised in New Jersey, Choz graduated from the School of Visual Arts in New York City. He began his career in the Silver Pictures cutting room at Warner Bros. Studios, contributing to feature films including Whiteout, Orphan, and The Factory. He later founded Studio APA, where he directed and produced award-winning music videos for artists such as Awkwafina, Far East Movement, MFBTY, and Mansions on the Moon.

As a designer and creative director, Choz has collaborated with global brands including Amazon, Google, Macy's, MTV, Esquire, Goldman Sachs, Dropbox, Ring, Yahoo!, UNICEF, and the NBA, creating work that spans motion design, animation, editorial, live events, and digital experiences.

In 2012, he co-wrote and co-directed the animated short film, Hibakusha, alongside longtime Studio APA collaborator Steve Nguyen.

In 2026, Choz published his debut novel, Karaoke Rex: Volume One, marking his first venture into literary fiction and expanding his body of work as a storyteller across film, design, comics, and prose.
